Urmi Hossain: Author & Mentor

My guest, Urmi Hossain, is a busy career woman in the financial sector.

Urmi is a speaker, Advocate for Woman's Empowerment, YouTuber, Blogger, and Fitness Enthusiast who uses walking to keep physically and emotionally fit.

Her book, Discovering Your Identity: A Rebirth from Interracial Struggle, tells the story of a brown girl who grew up in Italy with Bengali parents who wanted her to be the perfect and obedient Bengali girl.

Through reflections and confessions, she shares her experiences growing up as a third-culture kid and the struggles many South Asian girls face. She also shares her experience as coming from a Bengali family, as she was born and raised in Italy, and how her childhood shaped her life experiences.

Listen to how Urmi breaks up her workday with walking segments to take 10 thousand daily steps.

As a mentor, Urmi also has two great pieces of advice for all young women to follow. Take notes and share these two nuggets of information with the young women in your life.
